Egg roll

Here’s an easy homemade egg roll recipe that you can make with simple ingredients 🍳🥟
(No alcohol or anything unsafe—just cooking.)


Easy Egg Roll Recipe (Makes about 10–12)

Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ½ cup cooked chicken or leave it out for vegetarian
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 small garlic clove, minced)
  • Salt and pepper (a pinch)

Other

  • Egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • Oil for frying or baking

Instructions

  1. Cook the filling
    • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add chicken (if using), cabbage, and carrots.
    • Cook 3–4 minutes until soft.
    • Stir in soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper.
    • Let the filling cool a little.
  2. Wrap the egg rolls
    • Place one wrapper like a diamond.
    • Put 2 tablespoons of filling in the center.
    • Fold bottom corner up, fold in the sides, then roll tightly.
    • Brush the top corner with beaten egg to seal.
  3. Cook them
    • Frying: Heat oil in a pan. Fry egg rolls until golden brown, turning carefully.
    • Baking: Brush with oil and bake at 400°F (205°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
    • Air fryer: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 10–12 minutes.
  4. Serve
    • Let cool slightly and serve with soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.

Tips

  • Don’t overfill—this keeps them from bursting.
  • Keep wrappers covered with a damp towel so they don’t dry out.
