Lemon chicken 🍋🍗—bright, savory, and super comforting. Here’s a simple, reliable lemon chicken recipe that works great for a quick dinner.


Easy Lemon Chicken

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (for light coating)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
  • Optional: fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Prep chicken
    Pat chicken dry. Season with salt and pepper, then lightly coat with flour (shake off excess).
  2. Pan-sear
    Heat oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make sauce
    In the same pan, add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
    Add chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up browned bits. Stir in zest and seasoning.
  4. Simmer
    Return chicken to pan. Simmer 5–7 minutes until sauce slightly thickens and chicken is cooked through.
  5. Serve
    Spoon sauce over chicken and garnish with parsley.

  • Chicken thighs stay extra juicy
  • Add a splash of cream for a creamy lemon chicken
  • Serve over rice, pasta, or with roasted veggies
