Here’s a simple, flavorful way to make baked sausage 🍴🌿. Perfect as a main, in breakfast dishes, or sliced into pasta, casseroles, or veggies.


Oven-Baked Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork sausage links (or Italian, chicken, or turkey sausage)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (optional, for crispier skin)
  • Optional seasonings: black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare sausages
    • Arrange sausages on the baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.
    • Drizzle with a little olive oil if desired.
    • Optional: prick each sausage a couple of times with a fork to prevent bursting.
  3. Bake
    • Bake 20–25 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.
    • Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C) for pork, 165°F (74°C) for poultry.
  4. Serve
    • Let rest 2–3 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, pasta, or in a bun with onions and peppers.

Tips & Variations

  • Crispier skin: Broil 2–3 minutes at the end, watching closely.
  • Sheet-pan meal: Add sliced bell peppers, onions, or potatoes to roast alongside.
  • Flavor boost: Toss with a little maple syrup, honey, or balsamic during the last 5 minutes for a sweet-savory glaze.
  • Storage: Cooked baked sausages last 3–4 days in the fridge or freeze for 2–3 months.
