Here’s a simple guide to making a classic Baked Potato 🥔✨


Baked Potato

Ingredients (per potato)

  • 1 large russet potato
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chives, butter

Instructions

  1. Prep potato
    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Scrub potato clean and pat dry.
    • Pierce potato several times with a fork.
    • Rub with olive oil or butter and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Bake
    • Place potato directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
    • Bake 45–60 minutes, until skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the center.
  3. Serve
    • Slice open and fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add your favorite toppings and serve hot.

Tips

  • For extra crispy skin, bake directly on the oven rack rather than a pan.
  • Microwave shortcut: Cook on high 5–8 minutes per potato, then crisp in the oven for 10 minutes if desired.
  • Russet potatoes work best because of their fluffy interior.
