Banana bread

Posted on December 30, 2025 by Admin

Here’s a simple and classic banana bread recipe — moist, sweet, and perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert. 🍌🍞

🛒 Ingredients (Makes 1 loaf)

  • 3 ripe bananas (the riper, the sweeter)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste; can use brown sugar for deeper flavor)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans) or chocolate chips

🍌 Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat to 350°F / 175°C. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash Bananas
    • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients
    • Stir in melted butter, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients
    • Sprinkle in baking soda and salt.
    • Add flour gradually and stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
    • Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  5. Bake
    • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Bake 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool & Serve
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.

🍽️ Tips

  • Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • For extra moistness, add 2–3 tbsp of yogurt or sour cream to the batter.
  • Leftover banana bread can be toasted with butter for a quick snack.

If you want, I can also give a quick microwave banana bread recipe that makes a single-serving loaf in about 5 minutes. Do you want that version?
