Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on or off)
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Breading
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornmeal or breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
Wet dip
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tbsp milk or water
Instructions
- Prep shrimp
- Pat shrimp dry with paper towels.
- Set up breading
- Bowl 1: flour + seasonings
- Bowl 2: eggs + milk
- Bowl 3: cornmeal or breadcrumbs
- Bread shrimp
- Coat shrimp in flour
- Dip in egg
- Coat in cornmeal/breadcrumbs
- Fry
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C)
- Fry shrimp in batches 2–3 minutes, until golden and crispy
- Drain on paper towels
