Beef spaghetti

Here’s a classic, comforting Beef Spaghetti recipe—rich, hearty, and perfect for weeknight dinners:


Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz / 680 g) jar spaghetti sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz / 410 g) can diced tomatoes (optional, for extra texture)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti noodles
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the beef:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté aromatics:
    • Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add sauce & seasoning:
    • Stir in spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
    • Simmer for 10–15 minutes to let flavors meld.
  5. Combine & serve:
    • Toss cooked spaghetti with the beef sauce, or serve sauce on top of the noodles.
    • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

💡 Tips:

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
  • For extra richness, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a handful of shredded mozzarella before serving.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day—just reheat gently.
