Posted on February 24, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a crispy, sweet, and sticky Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken recipe — just like your favorite restaurant version 🍯🍗

🍯 Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Oil for frying

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger (optional)
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Chicken

  • Slice chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets.
  • Lightly pound for even thickness.
  • Season both sides with salt and pepper.

2️⃣ Create the “Double Crunch” Coating

  • In one bowl: mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • In another bowl: whisk eggs with 2 tbsp water.
  • Dredge chicken in flour → dip in egg → back into flour again (press firmly to coat well).

3️⃣ Fry

  • Heat about 1 inch of oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).
  • Drain on a wire rack (not paper towels — keeps it crispy!).

4️⃣ Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, ketchup, and vinegar.
  • Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened (2–3 minutes).

5️⃣ Finish

  • Either brush sauce over the chicken or lightly toss (don’t soak it or you’ll lose crunch).

🌟 Serving Ideas

  • Over steamed rice
  • With stir-fried veggies
  • On a sandwich bun
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds & green onions

💡 Pro Tips for Extra Crunch

  • Let coated chicken rest 10 minutes before frying.
  • Keep oil temperature steady.
  • For ultra crunch, add 2 tbsp cornstarch to the flour mix.

If you’d like, I can also give you:

  • 🔥 A spicy honey garlic version
  • 🍗 An oven-baked or air fryer version
  • 🥡 A lighter, less-sweet sauce version
