Here’s a delicious recipe for Chicken Cheese Dinner Rolls—soft, fluffy rolls stuffed with savory chicken and gooey cheese. Perfect for dinner or as a party appetizer! 🐔🧀🥖

Chicken Cheese Dinner Rolls

Ingredients (makes ~12 rolls)

For the dough:

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup water, warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the filling:

  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or cream cheese (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or green onions

For brushing:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough:
    • In a bowl, combine warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    • Mix in melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth and elastic (~8–10 minutes).
    • Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours, until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare Filling:
    • Mix shredded chicken, cheese, mayonnaise/cream cheese (if using), garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional parsley/green onions.
  3. Shape Rolls:
    • Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
    • Flatten each piece into a small disk, spoon filling in the center, and fold edges to seal. Shape into smooth balls.
  4. Second Rise:
    • Place rolls on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes until puffed.
  5. Bake:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Brush rolls with melted butter.
    • Bake 18–22 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Brush again with butter while warm. Enjoy hot as dinner rolls or snack.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra gooey cheese, mix in mozzarella or fontina.
  • You can add spices like paprika or chili flakes for a slightly spicy filling.
  • These rolls freeze well—just reheat in the oven for a fresh taste.

If you want, I can also give a quick no-yeast version that’s soft, cheesy, and ready in under an hour—perfect for last-minute dinners. Do you want that version?
