Here’s a chewy, sweet, and delicious Nougat Bars recipe you can make at home—perfect for holidays or candy trays. 🍫✨


Soft & Chewy Nougat Bars

Ingredients (8×8-inch pan)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp milk (or heavy cream)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts (or almonds)
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried fruit (optional, like cherries or cranberries)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan:
    Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  2. Melt Base:
    In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and marshmallows together, stirring constantly until smooth.
  3. Add Chocolate & Milk:
    Stir in white chocolate chips and milk until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Flavor & Thicken:
    Stir in vanilla. Gradually mix in powdered sugar until thick and dough-like.
  5. Add Mix-ins:
    Fold in peanuts and optional dried fruit.
  6. Press & Set:
    Press mixture firmly into prepared pan. Smooth the top with a greased spatula.
  7. Chill:
    Refrigerate 1–2 hours until firm. Slice into bars.

💡 Tips

  • Lightly butter your hands when pressing the mixture—it can be sticky.
  • For chocolate-covered nougat bars, dip chilled squares into melted chocolate and let set.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3–4 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
