  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

  • 6–8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) or 6–8 flour tortillas
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, if using pastry)

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft (4–5 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, cook sliced beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until just cooked (about 3–4 minutes).
  4. Return veggies to pan and mix together. Remove from heat.

2️⃣ Assemble

If using puff pastry:

  1. Roll out pastry slightly and cut into rectangles.
  2. Add a spoonful of beef mixture to each piece.
  3. Top with provolone.
  4. Roll tightly and seal edges.
  5. Brush with egg wash.

If using tortillas:

  1. Place beef mixture and cheese on tortilla.
  2. Roll tightly like a burrito.
  3. Place seam-side down.

3️⃣ Bake

  • Puff pastry version: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
  • Tortilla version: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes or pan-sear until crispy.

💡 Tips for Best Flavor

  • Freeze beef 20 minutes before slicing — easier to cut thin.
  • Add a little Worcestershire sauce for deeper flavor.
  • For extra cheesiness, mix in a little cream cheese.
