Gooey Brownie Pie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: extra chocolate chips or chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together (microwave in short bursts or use a saucepan). Stir until smooth.
  3. Whisk in sugars while warm.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until glossy.
  5. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt just until combined.
  6. Stir in optional add-ins if using.
  7. Pour batter into the pie dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake 25–30 minutes
    • Edges should be set
    • Center should still look soft and slightly underbaked
  9. Cool for at least 15 minutes (it sets as it cools).

Tips for Extra Gooeyness

  • Slightly undercook rather than overbake
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
  • Add a drizzle of chocolate sauce or caramel on top
