Here’s a tender, fall-off-the-bone Baby Back Ribs recipe that’s easy and super flavorful 🍖
(No alcohol, nothing unsafe—just classic ribs.)
Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs
Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: ~2½–3 hours
Serves: 2–4
Ingredients
- 1–2 racks baby back ribs
- Salt & black pepper
Dry rub (optional but recommended):
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
For finishing:
- ½–1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Prep the ribs
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (use a butter knife to lift, then pull).
Pat ribs dry. - Season
Mix dry rub ingredients and coat ribs evenly on both sides. - Wrap & bake
Place ribs meat-side up on foil. Wrap tightly in foil.
Bake for 2½–3 hours, until very tender. - Sauce & caramelize
Carefully unwrap ribs and brush with barbecue sauce.
Increase oven to 425°F (220°C) and return ribs (uncovered) for 10–15 minutes, until sauce is sticky. - Rest & serve
Let ribs rest 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
Tips
- For extra tenderness, don’t rush the low-and-slow bake
- Want crispy edges? Broil for the last 2–3 minutes (watch closely)
Great sides
- Cornbread
- Coleslaw
- Baked beans
- Roasted potatoes
If you want, I can share a grill version, a slow-cooker method, or a sweet-and-spicy rub next.
