Posted on January 1, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious recipe for Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs—tender, juicy, and full of smoky-sweet flavor 🍖

Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Serves: 2–4
Time: ~2–2.5 hours

Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs baby back ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1–2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for smoky flavor)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Prep ribs:
    • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (optional but makes ribs more tender).
    • Pat ribs dry with paper towels.
  2. Season ribs:
    • Rub ribs with olive oil (optional).
    • Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder, then rub evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Wrap & bake:
    • Wrap ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet.
    • Bake for 2–2.5 hours until ribs are tender.
  4. Add BBQ sauce:
    • Remove ribs from oven and carefully open foil.
    • Brush BBQ sauce generously over ribs.
  5. Optional broil/grill finish:
    • Broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes or place on a hot grill to caramelize the sauce and get a sticky, charred finish.
  6. Serve:
    • Slice between bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.

Tips & Variations

  • Spicy: Add chili powder or cayenne to the rub.
  • Sweet & tangy: Mix honey or brown sugar into the BBQ sauce.
  • Make ahead: Ribs can be baked ahead, then brushed with sauce and broiled just before serving.
  • Side ideas: Coleslaw, baked beans, or roasted corn complement perfectly.

If you want, I can also give a fast 1-hour oven method that makes tender ribs without the long baking time. Do you want that?
