🍚 Classic Congee (Rice Porridge)

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 cup jasmine or long-grain white rice
  • 8 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • Optional: 1-inch piece ginger, sliced
  • Optional protein: shredded chicken, pork, shrimp, or a soft-boiled egg

Instructions

1️⃣ Rinse rice

  • Rinse under cold water until water runs mostly clear.
