Crispy Chicken Fillet Recipe

Ingredients (for 2 fillets):

  • 2 chicken breast fillets
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, sunflower, or canola)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the chicken:
    • Flatten the fillets slightly with a meat mallet for even cooking.
    • Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up the coating station:
    • Bowl 1: Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • Bowl 2: Beat the egg with milk.
    • Bowl 3: Place breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the fillets:
    • Dredge chicken in flour → dip in egg → coat with breadcrumbs. Press gently to stick.
  4. Fry the fillets:
    • Heat ½ inch of oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry fillets 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 75°C / 165°F).
    • Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve:
    • Slice and enjoy with fries, salad, or a dipping sauce like mayo, honey mustard, or sriracha.
