Meatloaf

Here’s a classic, easy Meatloaf recipe that’s juicy and full of flavor 🥩

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or beef/pork mix)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Topping:

  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix milk and breadcrumbs; let soak 1–2 minutes.
  3. Add ground meat, onion, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    Mix gently—don’t overwork.
  4. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking tray.
  5. Mix topping ingredients and spread over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until cooked through.
  7. Rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Tips & Variations

  • Juicier meatloaf: Add 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cheesy: Mix in ½ cup shredded cheddar.
  • Healthier: Use ground turkey (add a little extra milk).
  • Sides: Mashed potatoes, green beans, or mac & cheese.
