Here’s a classic, easy pound cake recipe 🍰
Simple ingredients and beginner-friendly.


Classic Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep
    • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
    • Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. Cream butter & sugar
    • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–4 minutes).
  3. Add eggs
    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine
    • Slowly mix dry ingredients into the batter.
    • Stir in vanilla.
  6. Bake
    • Pour batter into the pan.
    • Bake 60–70 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool
    • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.

Optional Add-Ins

  • 🍋 Lemon zest + a little lemon juice
  • 🍫 Chocolate chips
  • 🍓 Fresh berries (lightly coated in flour)
