Here’s a foolproof classic pound cake 🍰
Simple ingredients, rich flavor, and great every time.


Classic Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep
    • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
    • Grease and flour a loaf or bundt pan.
  2. Cream
    • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
  3. Eggs
    • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Dry ingredients
    • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  5. Combine
    • Gradually mix dry ingredients into batter.
    • Stir in vanilla.
  6. Bake
    • Pour batter into pan.
    • Bake 60–70 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool
    • Let cool 10 minutes in pan, then remove and cool fully.
